Services: Network Planning
& Support
TRIDENT Services staff members have extensive experience in network analysis and
design; installation and maintenance of network software; emulation and analysis
of protocols; as well as network capacity planning and tuning.
Staff technical credits encompass SNA, ACF/VTAM/NCP/SSP, SNI, NETVIEW/ANO,
NETCENTER, TCP/IP, TOKEN RING, FTP, SNMP, NFS, TELNET software technologies.
TRIDENT Services staff members have designed, written and implemented numerous
network automation systems using NETVIEW and NPM written in REXX for dial-up
connections which significantly decreased telephone bills. Staff members have
also led projects for measuring SNA and TCP/IP network availability; along with
providing primary support for TCP/IP and backup support for open systems
networks.
TRIDENT Services staff members have provided functional specifications and
requirements documents for the rewrite of a major credit card processing system.
VTAM and BSAM I/O interface modules were designed and coded in assembler to drive
mainframe, PS/2, Series 1 and System 88 end points. TPNS scripts to emulate LU2,
LU0 and BSC protocols were created to test and debug software. Also TPNS test
scripts were created to stress test the system and to test recovery procedures
for network mode failures in a multi domain environment.
TRIDENT Services staff members performed network capacity planning and design,
upgraded NCP's and network resources to meet the needs of a rapidly growing
credit card services operation. An LU 6.2 interface between CICS and a fraud
recovery neural network on an RS6000 for credit card processing was designed and
implemented. An SNA backbone was integrated into a LAN/WAN environment. Also an
SNI network was designed and implemented in a multi domain environment. A
business recovery processing system was created at Comdisco to support critical
CICS and other applications.
TRIDENT Services staff members have also provided network software installation
and maintenance services for major clients in the banking, retailing, computer
manufacturing, oil refining and credit card processing industries.
